But I knew--I just knew--no one would buy it; I would still be a man with a purse.MikeHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01530099708429116393noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21671665.post-8396952492399938362011-01-13T22:49:55.371+00:002011-01-13T22:49:55.371+00:00I have the same problem. I have now resorted to wearing a light fleece all the time with pockets galore (MacPac do a great one with zip pockets large enough to fit an unfolded boarding pass). My previous solution was to carry a camera bag everywhere which had no camera in it and was instead filled with the sort of, erm, essentials that you and I require. Despite my assertions that it was a "hobbyist's bag", my friends resoundingly declared it a man-purse and eventually it had to go.Chris Raehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13571344994926061634noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21671665.post-36801774729715036972010-12-29T06:46:15.643+00:002010-12-29T06:46:15.643+00:00Marion: that's a great idea! Thus it would be a far more acceptable and manly accoutrement than a “man bag”. Might work -- but if you decided you had a need to carry “hard edged bits and pieces” as referred to by Chip2nd, a sporran would NOT be a good idea (cigar holder, lighter and cigar cutter all qualified as having aforementioned “hard edged bits and pieces”).

The Best To You and Yours for 2011.
Marion in PanamaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21671665.post-18074637561441398672010-12-24T16:04:41.678+00:002010-12-24T16:04:41.678+00:00I've never understood this man-bag fear, men w...I've never understood this man-bag fear, men were quite happy using them for hundreds of years when they were simply called satchels.awindramhttp://anthonywindram.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21671665.post-68106413063287496352010-12-24T11:23:45.533+00:002010-12-24T11:23:45.533+00:00That's all very well but have you ever tried t...That's all very well but have you ever tried to sit next to someone on a bus/train when they are wearing a coat stuffed with hard edged bits and pieces? I'm with you that a 'man bag' is wrong in so many ways but a small rucksack is more 'manly' so try that instead.
